Reality Stars & the Dangers of Twitter
UPDATED AUGUST 3, 2013
The impact of interaction with fans – - the illusion of fame by surrounding friends – - the use of twitter to create story lines.
What happens when a reality star who owes her success to the overwhelming support and assistance of her fans surrounds herself with “friends” who use her fame for their personal agenda? Is it real or is it just reality television? Does twitter drama shape reality television or vice versa? When did we jump the shark?
Faux Reality Entertainment (formerly known as Greg’s Loose Hole on twitter) has been vocal in it’s support for RHONJ Teresa Giudice. The term “RHONJ Teresa Giudice” is used because we support a persona that was created by television and crafty public relations. We do not know who Teresa Giudice is behind the artfully crafted persona, although she appears to have the qualities that one would cherish in a friend.
In early September, 2012, a purportedly close friend of the Giudice family known as @favabeanmatanz then changed to @FrankAbba then changed to @FranksABean then changed to @imcuddlysexy (hereinafter “Frank Abbattiscianni” or “Frank”) called out Johnny The Greek (hereinafter “The Greek”) on Twitter. The Greek was a staunch supporter of #RHONJ Teresa Giudice. The call out was public, brutal and clearly meant to broadcast to all that their relationship had changed. Frank accused The Greek of “talking too much” to the wrong people. Frank warned The Greek to “stop talking.” In fact, Frank’s script seemed to have been written for movie spoof gangsta wannabe Mickey Blue Eyes.
A few weeks later, Frank tweeted a message that was supposed to have been tweeted from the account of Pete Giudice. The Greek told him that he had his “accounts mixed up.”
Why attempt to humiliate an avid Teresa Giudice supporter on twitter? Was the rift real? If so, why not telephone The Greek and tell him there was a problem? It didn’t make sense.
On September 19, 2012, Frank pulled another public stunt, attempting to alienate another #RHONJ Teresa Giudice supporter and House of Marco hate monger rival: @GregsLooseHole (hereinafter GLH). Frank stated that GLH’s “big mouth spoke wt the wrong peeps. Gave u da warning” – a similar accusation he leveled against The Greek. As in the Greek attack, Frank did not telephone or DM, he refused to provide any details as to what or to whom the alleged statements were made.
Frank accused GLH of “running the Greek Fan Page account” but immediately backed off the accusation, when threatened with the posting of copies of Direct Messages proving otherwise.
It should be noted that at the time, the Greek and GLH were favorite targets of House of Marco minions only second to Teresa and Joe Giudice. House of Marco promptly posted Frank’s accusations against both:
Shortly after the unprovoked and very public stoning (hereinafter “the Frank Attack”), Frank began a rather interesting love fest with the House of Marco hate monger.
It is interesting to note that during the Frank Attack, he claimed to have DMed (sent a direct message) to GLH. GLH insisted that no DM was received. Later that day the mystery of the DM was resolved when it was discovered that Frank sent the DM to the wrong person. Why would Frank send a private message telling GLH to “mind ur business?” while making public accusations? It’s simple, Frank thought that GLH would agree to be publicly chastised by him so that he could curry favor with House of Marco. He was wrong. I (through GLH) won’t play anyone’s doormat. Frank’s subsequent text messages to me were ignored. His text apologies were ignored. Shortly thereafter Frank deactivated his twitter account.
Unable to live without drama, Frank returned to twitter with a new account @Franksabean. In an effort to garner followers, he posted a profile picture with him posing in front of the Giudice front door.
The new account contradicted much of the tweets made by @frankabba regarding Melissa Marco Gorga.
Now House of Marco was using Frank to taunt The Greek.
How does Frank know what Bravo intends to do in Seasons 5, Season 6 and Season 7? I doubt that Bravo knows what it will do in Seasons 6 and 7. But apparently Frank and House of Marco know. Or do they? Is Frank being consulted by Bravo regarding filming decisions? Doubtful.
In early January 2013, Fame Whorgas revealed the identity of Melissa Gorga’s ex boyfriend Bryan Bowen. Shortly thereafter House of Marco minions launched a vicious attack on Bryan:
Frank didn’t remain silent: he tweeted under @FranksABean that a man shouldn’t discuss a married woman’s past. Why would Frank take such a polar opposite position since under his prior @FrankAbba account, he reveled in boasting that there was photographic proof of Melissa Marco cheating on Joey?
Fans who had been attacked for their support of RHONJ Teresa Giudice were left speechless and feeling betrayed. Was RHONJ Teresa Giudice selling out the fans who had been attacked by House of Marco in exchange for an immediate end to negative articles? How did staunch #RHONJ Teresa Giudice supporters reconcile the jaw dropping change in positions? Was it a concerted plan?
An inside source revealed the reason for the astonishing change in positions: It’s all about bringing in the ratings at any expense. Bravo is using twitter to lay the foundation and/or bolster it’s story line. Season 4 was a season driven by tabloids. Season 5 will be a season of twitter shenanigans. It will be a ratings bonanza, but at what expense?
Bravo realized after seasons 3 and 4 that the star of the show is Teresa Giudice. Yet two issues in Teresa’s show persona must be rehabilitated: (1) people still question whether she set up her sister in law at the fashion show; and (2) her husband’s legal issues.
The fans want to see a reconciliation between RHONJ Teresa Giudice and Joey Gorga. The way to rehabilitate RHONJ Teresa Giudice is to introduce the allegations regarding Melissa Marco Gorga’s past and have Teresa come to her defense. Thus, Teresa shows her “martyr like devotion” to her brother by attacking the very person who is being encouraged to “tell the truth about Melissa.” Thereafter, Joey Gorga can be readily available for Teresa in the event something happens to Teresa’s husband.
It appeared that Faux Reality Entertainment (and a number of other staunch supporters) were being used as sacrificial lambs despite countless uncompensated hours invested in posting the truth (now subjected to unwarranted criticism and name calling from inarticulate loud mouths spewing hate).
On the evening of January 31, 2013, while tweeting with Bryan Bowen in the assault waged by House of Marco, I was advised that a close ally of Frank (who refers to Frank as “a brother from another mother”- Seriously moronic) was trying to undermine the defense by name calling and ridiculing me. That was the end – done – finished. I would defend Teresa Giudice against House of Marco till the end of time, but I will not, could not, and would not defend against attacks from people that claim to be Teresa supporters.
On February 1, 2013, @FauxRealityEnt forwarded (the one and only) DM to @Teresa_Giudice confirming that while I remain a fan, I would no longer become involved in public support. Supporters were turning on each other and they were being encouraged to do so by those in Teresa’s inner circle.
For several weeks, I ignored the nonsense launched by House Of Marco and the nonsense perpetuated by Frank and his groupies. On February 18, 2013, QueenzOfMedia began a campaign of sending tweets to my fiance’s twitter account. My fiance’s account was known by none other than @Franksabean. We responded in like.
Frank contacted a mutual friend to advise that “they were putting a hit out.” Once again, it appears that Frank is living in the world of Mickey Blue Eyes.
Shortly thereafter Frank left twitter. He began to use Pete Giudice’s account to post tweets stating “Frank said . . .” (because he wants us to believe that Pete Giudice would engage twitter to post what Frank has to say – truly ridiculous). The following were posted on June 6, 2013:
As soon as it was revealed how absurd it appears for Pete Giudice’s account to be used to tweet what “Frank said”, Frank returned for the fourth time as @imcuddlysexy because Frank Abbattiscianni can’t live without the drama. He fancies himself a cross between a Housewife and a Mobwife.
Contrary to #RHONJ recent interviews that “friends are professionals and business people who don’t live on twitter” AND “fans spur the fighting”, Reality Stars of #RHONJ have finally reigned in their families and their real life friends to stop the battles.
