Welcome back, I got back yesterday. I’m right off the causeway to LBI. We all got it bad down here. What are the legal issues?

    • avatar Mrs. Noogent says:

Bobbi, A little off topic but I am devestated by what happened in NJ. I spent so many summers on LBI and was so saddened to see all the destruction. This beautiful bit of paradise will always be in my heart! Thank God you’re ok and so sad about all the lives that were lost. I am wondering if Old Barney is still standing?

      • avatar Jeannie5233 says:

My best friends live year round in Barnegat Light. They lost everything on the first floor and cannot get back on the island for another 3-6 months.

I too spent many a summer – was there for two weeks just this past August in LBI. Growing up on Long Island and living on the West Coast as well, I am sorry there is NOTHING that beats the Jersey Shore.

Mrs. Noogent you will be very happy to know Old Barney is still standing proud and tall just like all of NJ/NY’s SPIRIT of strength.

Faux-do you have legal issues with some of the housewives or do you mean telling us about the continuing saga of their legal issues? Than you.

I knew it had to do with Sandy, I’m glad your back up and ready for business.

  7. avatar Bobbi says:

Old Barney is still standing. I use to go there during the summer then down to Holgate to take pictures. I took some pictures from there last winter. Wont be doing it this year. Its Horribe. The Shack that was in the Bay as you went over the causeway is gone. It was an icon, they were gathering money to restore it.

    • avatar Jeannie5233 says:

Oh no!!!! I am so sad to hear the Shack is gone! So many wonderful landmarks have come and gone I hope this one can be restored. God bless everyone who have lost so much from this horrendous catastrophe.

  8. avatar elemcee says:

I’m in Monmouth County, NJ (one of the hardest hit areas) and fortunately have power. My loved ones don’t. I’m still hosting — blessedly so, keeping them warm, well fed, showered and entertained. This sh*t has been scarily devastating. I was without power for three days. I have dear friends who have businesses on the Asbury Park and other boardwalks — all gone, as are many shore homes and folks I know who own them. I’m heartwrenched.

All I can say is that I do hope New Jersey/Staten Island gets the help it so sorely needs — and deserves. My prayers and my love are out there for all.

Welcome back! I hope you and your family are okay and that your damages are hopefully none, but at worst minimal. Thanks for your site. It is truly awesome!

My house is in Avalon, NJ. We did not have total devastation but some of our friends homes did depending on their area and flood levels. Thank God no one was hurt. Of course there is beach erosion but we will have that fixed in the spring. I am so sorry for those who have lost their homes and memorabilia. Memories can never be lost and possessions. I feel your pain as we have lost things (many things my children made for me and my husband when they were young in a flood we had last year in our year-round home. I wish you all better times. Karen.

Faux-I am out the loop as I have been without power or internet. What do you mean when you say ready for Lawsuits from housewives? What is going on?

  16. avatar Mesocrazy says:

So sweet of you Faux!! It was devastating & hopefully back soon! We just got back power. It makes you realize what is truly important at these times.. I’ve been out helping in any way I can BUT did not tweet 1 pic of me nor anyone helping unlike those fame wh*res tweeting every thing they do! Gross! Random acts of kindness should b done, just cuz!! You do not need to tell the world that you are helping!! They r trying to make this storm a PR turn around for them& it’s driving me crazy!! We all suffered drastically & will take time to get back into normal lives so we need you FAUX for some down time to take minds off the mess! So TY for your support!! Very Kind people in this world ( that stay anonymous) Have a fabulous day all!

Hi all…just reading through the comments, it seems I was in a similar situation to a lot of you. I’m on Long Island, one of the areas that was hit hardest by Sandy. My town is centrally located so we were fortunate to not have much propery damage. Just without power for 10 days (and freezing!!) and now dealing with this gas crisis. I’m just catching up on news/blogs/etc now. So many others just an arm’s length from me have been devastated, though. Nearly every coastal town on the island is destroyed. I hope you are all alright – safe, warm, healthy, lit up, and with full bellies! XO
